Sarin

He trembled with anxiety. He hadn’t slept in days. It was too soon. His shoes clunked across the cobblestone sidewalk. What was he doing here. He wanted to turn and run, but his legs were heavy. His heart was ready to leap from his chest, Sarin wasn’t ready.
His shaky hand reached for the door knob, it swung open quickly, and there was Batya.
“Dalton please relax, Sarin isn’t ready.”
“I agree, how did..”
“I can read her, she isn’t strong enough or confident enough, lack of confidence can ruin anything.”
“Where is Sarin?”
“She walked down to the little bridge. She wants to soak up the extra hour of sunshine.”
“Is she good, is she happy?”
“Oh Dalton, you are so sweet, yes she is wonderful. She is young, but she has a very old soul. Her maturity is intact.”
“Soon she will be running circles around us, like the ancient days.”
“Aye, Dalton I am going to take Sarin and leave.”
He felt nauseous, “What, where, why”
“Gelu, it is Wnztar’s home.”
“You weren’t going to tell Wnztar.”
“I am going to tell her, just not yet.”
“Wallnr is good, the plant has extra protection with Wnztar gone”
“Where exactly”
“The Sun Basin”
“Aye Sarin will like it there. Wnztar’s younger brother Walker is custodian of that area.”
“That is correct”
“I remember it being a beautiful area”
“Dalton you can’t accompany us.”
He stood in sadness
“They will know the minute you leave here. You will be hunted. Do you want that for her?”
“No, can I see her before you go?”
“Of course”
“Who is going somewhere?”
“Lily, I was just telling my friend Jack about our little vacation.”
Dalton clicked his fingers, freezing time, tears streaming down his face, “you bring immense joy and peace to my life. You are my everything. On my worst day, your smile melts it all away. You are my sunrise and sunset. My love for you is eternal.”
“Dalton the next time you see her, she will know you.”
“How will I communicate with you.”
“You can’t it is too risky, I will communicate with you.”
He gave Sarin a kiss of love, then clicked his fingers together.
“Who is ready for soon good food, I prepared a feast.”
Batya took Dalton by the hand and hugged him into the kitchen. Sarin giggled as she described the little bridge. Her excitement made Dalton smile.
