Dalton

The rain poured from the sky. The night had become a place of darkness. The streets were quiet. She enjoyed how the rain could turn a busy city into silence.
Batya loved the rain. This was when she walked. The rain called to her like a good book. She closed her eyes and looked up towards the sky. The rain pelted down her soft cheeks. The universe was calling.
The rain poured over her, rejuvenating her soul. She tossed her wet hair from side to side spraying the rain about. She caught a glimpse of him. He was standing just a few feet away. “Jock”
“Hi Batya”
“You know me”
“Yes, I remember all. I just wish Saren did”
“Dalton, I mean Jock”
“Please use the name I identify with”
“Dalton it is, I am quite impressed, you were reborn yet remember everything, it is astonishing.”
“It took a lot of hard work. We should get out of the rain, there is a dessert shop around the corner.”
“Alright”
Inside she warmed her soul with a slice of cake with warm creamy fudge. Dalton enjoyed a strawberry shortcake.
“Batya, how did you find Saren?”
“The universe led me here and you led me to Saren. I was in the right place at the right time.”
“Have you told Wnztar?”
“No”
“Why”
“I want time to help Saren. Wnztar is amazing, but when she arrives, so do the storms.”
“Thank you for that.”
“Are you here to punish us.”
“No, we need Saren. A war is brewing. We need her strength, knowledge and abilities and we need you as well. You have experienced tremendous growth.”
“We can discuss it in a safe place.”
“Yes I quite agree. A safe space with Saren.”
“What, no she can’t see me, she…”
“She loves you, you are part of her soul. I need your connection with her. We will do the impossible and help her remember who she is.”
“Okay, when?”
“When is a time you could disappear without anyone knowing?”
“After work, a Friday night, then I would have the whole weekend.”
“Alright, next Friday at the cabin in the woods, the universe will guide you.”
“Thank you Batya”
