The Decision
Written by: Collette Cottingham
Tears falling, wind blowing, heart racing, I stare into the horizon. I hated being here, yet here I am. I can’t make a decision. I sit out with the wind as if the wind could decide for me.
My innocent affair had drug on for years and was going no where. At first I was numb to any affection or feelings. As the years pasted old wounds were scabbed over. I was ready to love again.Do I cut him loose?
After years of putting others first I know what I want in the way of love. I need stability and to be truly loved in return. This is something I have dreamed about since childhood.
The years were passing and I am not getting any younger. Is there truly anyone out there for me? Am I wasting my time on a pipe dream. No one is knocking down doors to meet me. What do I do?
They say if someone truly cares about you, that they will make you a priority. I had never been a priority. Should I give up the dream and settle. Or was a single life with no love her true destination?
