The God of Thunder

She loves him, yet his love isn’t the same. She can stare into his eyes forever, but he won’t let her. Every time she is in his presence she wants to cuddle him and kiss him all over.
She does her best to restrain herself whenever he is in her presence. The minute he enters a room she is filled with excitement. Her excitement makes him turn around and make a quick exit stage right.
It is obvious she needs him more. Their love is different. He does love her, but not enough to change his whole life. He would prefer to stay with the same routine. It is his safety net.
She yearns for the late night snuggles, softness of his touch, hearing his heart beat and purrs of unconditional love. He does love her just the way she is, imperfections and all.
“Human one more rub behind my ear and that is it. I must go outside. The God has a kingdom to prowl and protect.”
“Thor would you like to have lunch with me?”
“Why yes I do need my strength, Goddess.”
“Then we could curl up for a nap.”
“I could use a rest, being a God is exhausting, but then I have matters to attend to!”
