Haven’s Grace

The wind whipped through the snow sending it into her face. It was the last straw. The tears which had welled up in her eyes, began to flow.
Her sobs echoed. She had wanted to contain them for the sake of her children, but fate had other ideas.
They were cold, wet and hungry. Alright they were freezing. She took the kids and left for good this time. Now with nothing but each other she didn’t know what to do. The children didn’t whine even though they were as miserable as her.
A car pulled over up ahead. She panicked. A woman alone with two small children was an easy target.
Her daughter screamed, “Auntie Coco!”
“Haven I’m here, everything will be okay, get in the car.”
She continued to cry. The tears of sorrow turned into tears of joy.
