spiritual truths

in my books

written with coloured markers

 

I looked out over the Big Lake

the biggest one

he’s deep and cold

don’t stay, he said

but take me with you

keep me too

 

I piled the warm sand

smooth

into the zip lock bag

and gave the last bite

to the seagull at my feet

 

I left restored
