I’ve lived here 

for five years

 

whatever

seven

 

people hear what they want to hear

and see me in the image

of themselves

of that longing

 

late last night

I got a message from the trees

they’re thinking of making a change

of going North

 

I collected some things

packed a bag

and left a key under the mat

just in case he comes home
