Inspiration Challenge – Fly in the Ointment
Yoo hoo Hipsters!
You know who you are.
You’re a writer.
A writer’s task in society is to bring forth the genius of Zeitgeist, and sculpt it into words. From this magnificence, the world sees itself.
We are transducers, magicians even.
Kicker is, we all get blocked, uninspired, scared, disappointed, peevish, tired, lost… yes, all those icky things! Cool part is, those negative things are also the most abundant source of creativity. Ultimately, it is exactly what we are meant to be doing!
We inform the world how to be and see beauty.
This week, take one of those icky things – the fly in the ointment – and tell us a story. Show us a story. Use character, metaphor, or your former best friend’s true story to illustrate the usefullness of said fly.
Hint: show; don’t tell. Let the reader reconcile their own fly in the ointment because they don’t know exactly what you are pointing at in your own experience. Don’t use this space to rant…
Tell a story.
Fact. fiction, poetry or prose.
